Rastaholm is an island in the big Lake Mälaren, where you can experience one of Sweden’s best freshwater fishing, stay a night or more and enjoy lovely meals at restaurant terraces with a wonderful sea view. The island is a calm and uncrowded place located 25 km west of Stockholm and connected to the mainland by several bridges, so it’s close enough to feel the city pulse, but at the same time far out in the nature. You can visit this perfect spot for both relaxing time and fishing with our BSF fishing guides.
Lake Mälaren has a lot of species, but we mainly fish for pike, perch and zander (pikeperch). The area around Rastaholm has the numbers and size alike to be called one of the best freshwater fishing spots in Sweden. A good verification of this are some of Sweden’s biggest fishing tournaments, often located just outside Rastaholm. Fishing trips are availabile from April to November, every day from approx. 8 am to sunset, upon agreement with the fishing guide. The start and end times are flexible and can extend from a single day of fishing with lunch to as many nights as you want (you don’t need to fish every day).
A full-day fishing trip takes approx. 7.5 h and a half-day – approx. 4 h, but this is of course open to adjustments to your wishes. First day can start with breakfast or lunch at the restaurant, and when you’re ready, we set off to the shore to meet the fishing guide. All the gear needed is included and the restaurant provides a lunch/dinner box to bring in case of a full day fishing. After the trip we return to Rastaholm, where you can check in at the cottage and perhaps use sauna and have a cold beer before eating dinner at the restaurant, admiring the sunset reflecting in the Lake. Second day starts with an early breakfast and then a meeting with the fishing guide for a half day fishing adventure. You return to Rastaholm at approx. 12 am for the check out and lunch, before we say: “See you next time!”
As an additional service it’s possible to start the trip from Stockholm City (pickup by fishing guide), and then fish on our way to Rastaholm. The same on the last day, fishing and the return by boat to a drop off location in Stockholm City.
If you want to start at www.rastaholm.se you can go there by car or bus from or via Stockholm City.
If you travel by car from south of Stockholm City, there is a ferry at Slagsta as a short cut.
