WELCOME TO KLAIPEDA, LITHUANIA

Reward yourself with the salmon of your dreams!

We welcome you to try and enjoy the diverse sportfishing possibilities at the Lithuanian Baltic Sea coast and Klaipėda region. Klaipeda is vivid and the only port town in Lithuania where a part of it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. It’s surrounded by many historical heritage sites, picturesque wild nature and many good fishing spots.

Lithuania has 90 km of shoreline only, but there arenice catches of salmon, sea trout and many other species on record. Additionally, very close to Klaipėda, in the northern part of the Curonian Lagoon and untouched coastal rivers, you can fish or relax (simply yachting or kayaking), while experiencing unforgettable views and the rich diversity of the ecosystem.

The sea trout, perch, pike-perch, cod and, surely, the Baltic salmon, are among the most commonly targeted game fish. Our fishing guides have a long-run experience and a number of angling records from these waters. We invite you to discover many great places in Klaipėda and the surrounding areas and join us on our fishing trips with all the necessary equipment and guidance provided.

THE FISHING AREAS AND OFFERS

Fishing on the Baltic coast varies, depending mainly on the season and targeted fish. The best time to catch salmon and sea trout starts at the end of November and finishes at the beginning of May. Often the sea is rough here but the prize could be the salmon of your life! Lithunanian salmon makes one of the longest migration routes in the world (500 km), therefore the size of salmon is also one the biggest (average landed size is 10 kg)!

Having the proper clothing for the cold months, combined with the adrenaline coming from pulling huge fish from the water, guarantee an amazing experience.

Pike perch and perch fishing are primarily performed in the northern part of the Curonian lagoon, near Klaipėda. Perch and pike-perch angling season starts at the end of May and continues till the beginning of October, but is strongly dependent on the wind direction as well as currents in the lagoon and at the sea coast. When at times – due to such unfavourable wind conditions or dangerous waves – we are not able to go to the open sea, top class alternatives are provided, including fishing in the Curonian lagoon and river fly fishing.

So, you can choose the time of day, depending on your preferences. The event can also be organised as a full-day trip or even a longer one – all to help you catchthe fish of your dreams. WE GIVE BACK TO BALTIC SEA FISH POPULATIONS

The BSF fishing guides in actively support measures to improve natural production of coastal and migratory fish by earmarked funds derived from fishing tourism to local fish conservation measures. BSF stems from the EU-funded Retrout project that currently are improving the habitats and fishing production in 12 Baltic Sea rivers. Other improvement measures, such as construction of suitable wetlands for fish reproduction and river watch (guarding) activities are also conducted.
